Cities have many merits over villages. First, cities provide modern amenities like better transport infrastructure, education institutes, job opportunities, and medical facilities. All the prominent universities, well-equipped multi-specialty hospitals, and multinational companies are in the cities. Also, cities are more lively and offer many fun activities. All major political and non-political activities and fares are observed in the urban areas. However, sometimes, the countrysides lack even the basic facilities. Consequently, these people have to travel to cities to avail themselves even the fundamental health and education facilities and to meet; they have to travel to cities to visit the government office if any need arises.
Yet, cities have some drawbacks. Firstly, cities are generally more crowded, most cities in the world are highly polluted, and one is cut off from nature. Further, the cost of living in most cities can be very high as the rents; cost of property, and other commodities are very high. Last but not least life can be too fast-paced and stressful in cities compared to life in villages where life is slow and peaceful.
Finally, both cities and the countryside have their edges, and it depends on an individual where they desire to live. Someone looking for peace and closeness to nature should opt countryside, while one desiring career growth and bustle should prefer life in the city.
