Careers in information technology, medicine, and biotechnology have proved highly rewarding in the past two to three decades. These careers are not just monetarily lucrative but bring honour and respect to society.
Additionally, the latest progress in science and technology, mainly computer-based technology, astonishes young learners. This progress has profoundly impacted the world recently; also, these technologies have been at the core of boost in the startup culture lately; consequently, it is natural for institutes to excited about these developments as they have to teach what is relevant to the current times. This kind of excitement is missing for other fields.
I believe this is somewhat negative, as occasionally, some students who are interested in literature and theater do not get enough support from their educational institutes. However, creativity and arts must be encouraged, and schools and universities must have able teachers and ample amenities to facilitate a student looking to make a career in these fields. It is vital to preserve these and encourage creativity in students as it is essential for all round development. Although these employment opportunities are fewer and are generally less lucrative than science, they certainly are there.
