Marketing campaigns by various companies have become an inseparable part of our lives. Parents often complain that many such advertisements target children into buying them toys, junk food, etcetera; that is unjust. This essay aims at discussing if this trend is fair or not and ultimately reaches a conclusion.
Advertisements are everywhere and greatly influence our choices in life. Nowadays, these target children to sell products since they know that youngsters can be easily lured into liking certain items, and they can convince their parents to purchase these items. Parents sometimes have to buy unnecessary toys or unhealthy food items only because sometimes they have to give in to their children’s recalcitrance. Over commercial companies chose to target juniors as they are impressionable.
However, this is a positive development for the sellers for whom selling products in this competitive world is an immense challenge. For them conveying their message through the children is quite a comfortable job. I feel some sellers or service providers believe they must do to survive as one has to continuously face cut-throat competition in business. If a product is good enough, parents can become repeat customers of that product, which can help the vendors and the parents alike though these instances are few, for generally, such products are not preferred by the parents.
Finally, in my viewpoint, the commercials that intentionally target young minds should be stopped. Children are naive and impressionable; parents can judge what has to be procured by a family. It is not just unfair but unethical, and every unethical practice should be stopped by the authorities.
