I wear a light neck chain and small earrings daily. I am particularly fond of wearing rings. All my friends know that I always wear 5-6 rings. I keep changing this jewellery.
But I wear heavy jewellery on special occasions like weddings or traditional functions.
2. What type of jewellery do you like best? [Why/Why not?]
I like all kinds of jewellery. I like traditional jewellery the most. Traditional Indian jewellery has a large variety, and it has a rich history. Indian women have always been fond of jewellery, so am I. I am also fond of contemporary jewellery. I am particularly fond of pearl pieces. They are suitable for casual and formal occasions. As I said, I wear one or another piece daily.
3. When do people like to give jewellery in your country [Why?]
In India, jewellery is seen as an investment. In fact, it is considered equivalent to hard cash. People invest in jewellery and then pass it on to the next generation. Well, parents gift their daughters jewellery in my country. In-laws also pass on family jewellery to their daughters-in-law.
Other than these, people do present ornaments to others on other special occasions like birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
4. Have you ever given jewellery to someone as a gift? [Why/Why not?]
Yes, I had gifted my husband a gold chain on our first wedding anniversary. I guess that is the only gold item I have ever presented to anyone in my life so far.
