Most people in my country, I guess, don’t like heavy rains. Downpours can create too much havoc in the lives of people. Since the rain drainage system is not very good in most parts of India, rain can hinder day-to-day activities. People cant move out . It is most damaging for poor people who don’t have concrete houses to live in. Here, I would like to mention that for some people harsh summer or very low temperatures are equally difficult to tolerate.
Q. What jobs can be affected by different weather conditions? Why?
I believe the people who have to travel a lot for their work are affected the most by harsh weather conditions. Also, construction workers can’t work if it rains heavily or there is heavy snowfall. Also, salespeople have to confine to their offices or homes if the weather is not conducive. Other than these people, sportspersons and people working for airlines can’t work, so these jobs also suffer.
Q. Are there any important festivals in your country that celebrate a season or type of weather?
Yes, we have a few such festivals, but one most popular one is Basant Panchami which is celebrated to welcome Basant or spring season. People wear yellow-colored clothes and worship goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of knowledge.
